DOORS refers to the ancient exterior gates of old houses which are quickly disappearing. By documenting them, the children learn to appreciate the artistic and historic significance of these valuable artifacts and are given an opportunity to share and discuss them online, with their peers across the border. DOORS promotes cross-border communication, understanding and tolerance and it opens doors for greater dialogue and constructive competition among these youngsters. It promotes individual excellence and initiative in a team setting, as all work together on a common goal - connecting with each other across borders.
DOORS in Greece does not involve the participation of a local secondary school.

ABOUT THE VILLAGE (S) Children from several rural villages in the region attend primary and secondary school in the village of Agios Germanos, on the banks of Lake Prespa, in the Republic of Greece.  The children from these villages will access the Internet with notebooks which they will use to upload the photographs on the DOORS website, share and discuss the pictures they take with their peers across the border. The village of Agios Germanos is approximately a two and a half hour car ride from the village of Ljubojno, in Macedonia, and about four and a half hour car ride from the village of Dolna Gorica, in Albania. A half-hour boat ride across Lake Prespa separates the children of Ljubojno, Dolna Gorica and Agios Germanos.
